Specific Information

I arrive approximately one hour before the event and leave upon completion. A car may accompany riders along their route or remain on location to setup a "pit" area (pop-up tent, repair stands, cleaning area, etc.). My presence helps them finish when their bike breaks. Alternately, riders may face disqualification due to myriad equipment or other violations unless someone has the means, knowledge, and ability to identify and remedy them.

The local (sponsoring) bike shop often sends a mechanic but rarely has the logistical ability to support an event like a professional neutral support service. Their presence is appreciated, welcomed, and encouraged as more technicians can assist more people.

Key manufacturers are involved to ensure a constant stream of high-quality equipment. It is available for temporary use by participants at no cost to them provided it is returned in the same condition. Damaged equipment is ultimately the financial responsibility of the promoter though every effort will be made to hold the rider accountable.

This is a powerful marketing tool that benefits promoters by attracting and/or retaining more participants. It boosts event profiles and the participants would know you are concerned about providing a positive experience.

Cancellation and Payment Policies

  • Payment is due upon completion of the event unless other arrangements are made.
  • You are obliged to notify me of any cancellations or date changes.
  • You may cancel without paying the service fee if done more than 72 hours in advance, however any incurred and/or non-refundable expenditures (i.e., hotels, cancellation fees, food, mileage, tolls, ferries, air travel, train, etc.) will be your financial responsibility.
  • Cancellations or stoppages for any reason less than 72 hours in advance may require full payment of the service fee and any incurred and/or non-refundable expenditures.
  • Past due invoices are charged a $25 processing fee plus 1.5% interest per month or part thereof and any fees associated with recovery as provided by law.
  • Returned checks are subject to a $35 processing fee and any fees associated with recovery as provided by law.
